Nicole Mirkin
Psy.D., M.F.T., P.P.S.Dr. Nicole Mirkin is a California-licensed psychologist specializing in clinical and forensic assessment, trauma-informed care, and family systems. She holds a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and is a certified School Counselor with experience across educational, clinical, and forensic settings.
California Services (Psychological Evaluations & Psychotherapy)
All psychological evaluations and psychotherapy services are provided exclusively within the state of California.
Dr. Mirkin specializes in court-ordered 730 psychological evaluations for family, juvenile, and dependency court matters across California. She is an approved provider on the Riverside County Superior Court 730 Evaluator List and the Stanislaus County Superior Court 730 Evaluator List.
Evaluations address issues including mental health and diagnostic clarification, parenting capacity/fitness, trauma and abuse, domestic violence, mood and personality disorders, and substance use and co-occurring disorders.
She also conducts domestic and international adoption evaluations, supporting families and agencies in making informed, compassionate decisions throughout the process.
Dr. Mirkin provides psychotherapy services for adolescents and adults, supporting concerns such as trauma, anxiety and depression, relationship and attachment difficulties, parenting challenges, and major life or career transitions.

Coaching and consultation services are offered nationwide across all U.S. states and are available regardless of state of residence.
Through coaching and consultation, Dr. Mirkin supports individuals involved in Child Protective Services (CPS) cases, family court, juvenile court and dependency matters, and high-conflict custody situations. She works with clients who feel unheard or misrepresented, helping them understand legal and clinical processes, rebuild confidence, clarify documentation and evaluations, and advocate for themselves effectively.
As a certified School Counselor, she also provides academic and career coaching nationwide, offering guidance in educational planning, professional development, and career transitions.
Dr. Mirkin is committed to destigmatizing mental health, supporting survivors of trauma and systemic injustice, and promoting fairness within the court system. She also mentors early-career clinicians and supports professionals navigating burnout and secondary trauma.
Through her project Psychologist Interrupted, Dr. Mirkin speaks honestly about the messy side of healing- the setbacks, rebuilds, and everything in between.
